Everyone loves coming home to exciting post and we are sure the rise of subscription boxes has had lots of people running to check the post when they hear the letterbox go in the morning. Add tea to the mix and you are onto a winning combination in our opinion! This is precisely what The True Tea Club have done so when they invited us to try one of their subscription boxes we couldn’t wait for it to arrive on our doorstep.
The True Tea Club is a York based company who pride themselves on their HUGE selection of loose leaf teas, striving to discover new teas from around the globe to help them keep creating unique blends. They work with the grassroots suppliers for all their teas so they know where they come from and that they are of the utmost quality.
Each subscription box comes with four tea blends, four empty (and reusable) tea bags and information cards. The boxes are perfectly letterbox sized so you don’t have to worry about missing your delivery if you aren’t home. We loved the branding of this company, super simple and clean, the teas were beautifully packaged with a steeping guide and information about the teas, and the addition of reusable teabags means its easier to drink your loose leaf teas at work or when visiting friends who only have coffee!
Earl Grey Rebel ( £6.25 for 50g )
Earl grey with a lovely refreshing citrus twist, this blend is best drunk without milk and thanks to the lovely citrus flavours in the tea you won’t even need to put lemon with it. This early grey is beautiful on its own, if it weren’t so drinkable we would just bathe in it – literally, it smells phenomenal!
Mighty Mango ( £6.25 for 50g )
The instructions say brew for 10-20 seconds, we love our tea strong so we went ahead and brewed this for around a minute. The cheeky mango flavour is beautifully sweet and leads the flavour profile of this blend, as it hadn’t been brewed for long the green tea was just a hint in the background giving the blend body and depth.
Rainbow Chaser ( £6.25 for 50g )
Firstly we want to say this tea is so so pretty! This unusual blend contains apple pieces, blackberry leaves, orange peel and peppermint. This is a delightfully delicate blend, perfect for sipping away as a cold brew with a tonne of crushed ice on a hot summers day.
Vanilla Cupcake Rooibos ( £6.25 for 50g )
This warming and comforting blend leads with smooth sweet vanilla, the vanilla is sweet without being sickly which it sometimes can be if it is artificially enhanced. The rooibos adds the cakey twist to this blend with super subtle banana tones adding a cheeky tropical twist at the back of the palate. The addition of banana may sound a little out there – but don’t knock it until you’ve tried it!
Each of these teas smelt AMAZING and we were impressed by the original and unusual blends that the True Tea Club sent out! An added bonus is the website tells you what blends are vegan friendly and you can request your box with only those blends – good work True Tea Club.
The True Tea Club subscription boxes come with four blends of tea, with new flavours being introduced on the 20th of each month. You can subscribe according to how much tea you drink, the basic subscription (£10pm) provides approximately 40 cups of tea, premium (£15pm) allows for 60 cups and deluxe (£20pm) provides enough tea for 80 cups – these estimates include double steeping so don’t go throwing your tea leaves away after one use!
If you don’t like a particular type of tea just let the company know by leaving a note at checkout and they will tailor your box for your preferences, if you want more of what you tried you can also get 15% off when you order from The Tea Club’s online shop plus you can cancel your subscription anytime!
