Spring fling wishlist

The evenings are drawing out, the daffodils and crocuses have started tentatively poking their little heads out of the soil and the clouds cleared enough to let the sun shine for a little bit last week….it must be almost spring! It doesn’t take much to get us in the mood for the warmer days and with lots of our favourite shops getting next seasons trends in we thought we had better get our spring wishlist together!

(K) With my holiday road-tripping down the west coast of California fast approaching I am getting excited to treat myself to some new summer threads. Spell & The Gypsy Collective have knocked it out the park with their Blue Skies collection and I literally want everything! The gorgeous Stevie Nicks inspired Rhiannon gown is reminiscent of the Shakuhachi dress I got married in and would make a perfect piece for a romantic evening out with my man. The little bralettes would add a cheeky colour pop under a sheer shirt or vest and doubles as a bikini top for those impromptu swims! This collection’s easy-wear 90’s inspired dresses are versatile enough for sunny days and sandals or cooler evenings with a pair of boots and tights.

I really love the high neck bikini trend at the moment, they lend themselves well to figures with fuller busts offering a bit more security during watersports but I also can’t go away without a beautiful vintage style high waisted bikini set, they are just so flattering, luckily Urban Outfitter’s own brand ‘Out From Under’ have hit the mark with both styles this season!

You can never have too many dresses right? I will most definitely be adding this Oasis skater dress and Samantha Pleet Romper to my holiday shopping list! No holiday wardrobe is complete without some super comfy trainers to keep your feet happy during miles of exploring and Free People have a couple of great options by Puma and Vans.

(B) Ever since I saw them I’ve been lusting over the embroidered ankle boot trend (it’s not quite sandal season yet!) and when I saw these beetle embroidered Topshop boots my heart skipped a beat. Unfortunately they’re super pointy and my feet are super big and they just don’t work (imagine clown shoes) so I’m going to have to DIY a pair myself. In the meantime I might snap up a pair of floral embroidered boots that are a better shape.

On my trip to Cornwall we managed a little paddling in the sea but it’s made me start thinking about swimming again. I’m really keen to get into wild swimming as I much prefer being outdoors than in a chlorinated pool. I spent a lot of time during my childhood in rivers, streams and the sea and would love to get back out there. For those times where I might end up in a swimming pool (or even just lounging by one) I’d love this Samantha Pleet swimsuit, otherwise it will probably need to be a wetsuit…

As always my love for & Other Stories continues, with their relaxed shapes and effortless cool girl attire. The edgy prints and quirky outlines always draw me in and I find they always fit me really well. Definitely worth a look at their new Girl Gone Grunge range.
