We are both keen readers of Stylist Magazine (it was a saviour when Becca used to commute to London every day) and when we got the pre-sale email for this year’s Stylist Live we couldn’t wait to see what surprises they had in store!
Having booked our tickets as soon as it was announced, by the time the event came around we had forgotten what we’d booked onto. We keenly checked our schedules, travelled up to London with a few hours to spare and popped into Piacha for lunch (which handily is just up the road from the London Business Centre, where Stylist Live is taking place) but more on that in our next post!
We queued up with lots of other like-minded women and after a bit of a faff with our tickets having the wrong barcode (hopefully they’ll sort this for the rest of the weekend) we were inside and greeted with our complimentary Chambord cocktail – (yum – will be making more of these at home)
After getting our bearings and finding out where our booked talk was we explored the stalls. There was an abundance of amazing businesses showcasing their wares making it very difficult to choose what to treat ourselves to! Here is a rundown of our top picks…
The moment we saw the sign saying ‘tea inspired’ we made a tealine for this stand. This is a bath and body range inspired by the founder’s travels and teas they discovered along the way. We didn’t catch the name of the lady at the stall but we adored her passion for the brand and hearing the story behind it really made this brand stand out – thanks for the samples T-London – we love them!
‘High performing, fashion forward activewear’ – we loved this brand and their ‘every girl can’ attitude. This strong not skinny tee says it all for us and when payday arrives Kate will be heading straight over to their website!
We loved Hopscotch London’s branding and the simplicity of it reflects their small batch and natural product ethos. Hopscotch London get a big thumbs up from us!
After lots of stops for tasters, grabbing a Rebel Kitchen Raw Coconut Water to rehydrate, just about resisting (and later regretting it) Crosstown Matcha Donuts we headed upstairs to the Work Room to hear Digital Strategy specialist and Author of The Million Dollar Blog, Natasha Courtenary-Smith talk about Blogging and how to make a career out of doing something you love.
We found it fascinating to hear how expansive the blogging industry is and how many of today’s 18-25 year olds view this as their top career choice.
It was great to be in a room with so many other like-minded women who all shared a similar passion and have been through the same emotional roller-coaster involving it. Thanks to Natasha Courtenay-Smith for giving us some serious food for thought!
Who else ventured out to Stylist Live this weekend?!
