Ten Days of Tea Shirt: Lemon & Lime

Today’s instalment of our ‘Ten Days Of Tea Shirt’ mini blog series brings us Lemon & Lime, a fusion herb and fruit blend. Amongst the ingredients are; Mate green tea, apple pomace, liquorice root, lemon grass and lemon peel. This tea really delivers on flavour with the zesty lemon notes and each mouthful finishes with slight hints of spice from the lemongrass and liquorice root.

We first tried this tea cold brewed in fizzy water and it was incredibly refreshing  – a fantastic alternative to lemonade with the benefit of an energising kick from the Mate. Mate tea is something we haven’t come across often on our tea travels so when we do we make a beeline for it – always on the lookout for a healthier coffee alternative. Mate tea originates from South America, its effects last longer than that of coffee – unless you brew it for too long as apparently this weakens the effect! This blend will also be a great pick-me-up brewed hot with a teaspoon of honey in the winter when cold and flu season returns.

With the hot weather that briefly appeared we just had to incorporate this blend into ice-lollies for an extra refreshing hit, see how below…

Lemon and Lime Ice-Tea Lollies

    • Cold brew four teaspoons of lemon & lime tea (5.99 for 100g) in fizzy water overnight.
    • Strain the tea leaves from the tea infusion.
    • Add the zest of one lemon and one lime.
    • Pour into ice-lolly molds.
    • Freeze.
    • Relax in the sun with a good book and Enjoy!
