Its been rather quiet in the land Bugs & Birds recently, with Bugs in the throws of moving and renovating and Birds neck deep in planning a hen weekend we have been a little preoccupied.
A few weeks ago the lovely Stephanie of Always Smart nominated us for something called a Liebster Award, a fun way to recognise and give a virtual fist bump to other like minded bloggers. We decided do have a bit of fun and do our own take on the Liebster Award.
What’s your favourite time of the year? Elaborate please!
Bugs: Autumn – I love when the leaves start changing colour! Birds: Spring – when the chill leaves the air and the birds start singing louder!
What is your favorite thing you have read this year? Why?
Bugs: The watchmaker of filigree street. Such a beautiful hardcover version too! Birds: I capture the castle, this is the first book I have read this year and it was brilliant, I literally couldn’t put it down. It was enchanting and completely unpredictable and had me laughing out loud at several points!
If you could only watch one show on TV, what would it be?
Bugs: The moomins (haha!) Birds: At the moment I’m addicted to Heartless- a Danish fantasy horror!
Name 4 things that make you happy.
Bugs: music, friends, good food, and a combination of all three. Birds: Soft breezes in the Sunshine, my puppies, good company and alone time!
If you could travel anywhere right now, where would you go? Why?
Bugs: Australia – I could do with some sunshine and we have so much family out there it would be wonderful to see them all again. Birds: It would be Australia too – my best friend lives out there and I would love to see her!
Top 3 songs you’re obsessed with right now.
Bugs: Slow Dance by Arcane Roots (in fact the entire album), Boy George by Vukovi and Grace by Jeff Buckley! Birds: Can’t Wait by Chon, Hard Drive by Evan dando, Burn by The Cure.
Who do you admire/look up to?
Bugs: Anyone who has upped and left their job, home etc. to move to another country! It’s been a dream of mine for a long time… Birds: So many creative women running their own businesses and so talented – Deborah Panaseer, Emilie Lovaine, Rachel from Oh No Rachio – all the strong, independent and creative women rocking their thing!
If you could have diner with anyone (dead, alive, fictional), who would you want sitting across from you?
Bugs: My grandparents. I want to hear about their lives and be old enough to appreciate their incredible stories. Birds: My Mum, I’d give anything to have that chance!
Favourite thing to drink?
Bugs & Birds: TEA!
What do you want your 2016 to look like?
Bugs: Better than 2015! Healthier, happier and less time feeling burnt out. Birds: I have no idea! Let the adventure continue!
What do you like to do to cheer yourself up?
Bugs: Cup of tea, a good book and a hot bath. Failing that having a good old natter with my best friends never fails to cheer me up. Birds: Cuddle my dogs and be silly with my husband, he always knows how to cheer me up! I also agree with Bugs – a good natter with friends is a definite way to cheer you up!
Birds: Despite being a nurse I am petrified of going to hospital!
Bugs: I studied music at university and am a clarinettist! I haven’t had much of a chance to play recently and really miss it…
Birds: I only started drinking tea three years ago (and coffee less than a year ago)
Bugs: I’ve started about 20 different blogs (the first one when I was 15!) but non of them made it past the first month… (except this one!)
Bugs & Birds: Our husbands are in the same band!
Birds: I long to own a minimal amount of things so I could pack up my life in a heart beat and go where the wind takes me!…
….in reality if I go anywhere – even just an overnight stay I plan in my head what I need to take weeks before and write numerous lists!
Bugs: After reading the above this is definitely something I aspire to also!
Birds: My dogs are my babies
Bugs: I am a chronic pain sufferer but this year I’m determined not let it rule my life.
Bugs & Birds: We often meet up to write blogs posts but end up nattering and drinking tea and getting nothing done!
We’ll be posting some of our favourite blog reads in the next few weeks so keep an eye out for out recommendations!
