Christmas Tea: Chi Trading

Although there are many Christmas tea’s we enjoy including some from YumChaa, The Tea House and Kent and Sussex Tea and Coffee Co, we decided to give you the low down of some of the Christmas teas available at our two local tea shops, Bluebird Tea Co. and Tea & Honey. You may have already seen our recent post on Bluebird Tea Co’s delicious selection.

Chi tea is a relatively new discovery for us having only found their shop Tea & Honey on a recent trip to nearby Brighton for the local Etsy Christmas market. We had intended to visit this tea shop back in the summer when we spent the day in Brighton on a tea trail but got all tee’d out and didn’t make it there (I know who’d have thought!).

The branding of this company is spot on – super simplistic, leaving all the focus on their beautiful products, the value for money is also fantastic, we were very happy customers! The couple who served us were really helpful and friendly which is always a plus in our books.

Almond Cake This tea, Bird’s absolute favourite, is just heavenly. Hints of apple and cinnamon liven up the smooth, sweet caramelised almond leaving you wishing you had used a larger mug. Being a fruit tea it is caffeine free, an added bonus. Just make sure you pay attention to the brewing time, 10 – 12 minutes is recommended for this tea and is necessary for optimum flavour, although it is so hard waiting that long when it smells so amazing!!

Ingredients: Apple pieces, almond pieces, cinnamon pieces, beetroot pieces.

Stollen The spicing of this tea is reminiscent of traditional German stollen. Warming and luxurious, this tea can be enjoyed with or without milk and we loved this frothed up with almond milk as a latte.

Ingredients: Luxury black tea, chocolate chips (sugar, ground cocoa beans with cocoa butter, emulsifying agent: soy lecithin), orange slices, star anise, cinnamon rods.

Although we have only tried two of Chi’s Christmas teas so far (so many tea’s, so little time) they also have Festive Streudel, Gingerbread Man, Orange Panetonne (which smelt glorious!), Cardamom Ginger and Christmas Morning, all of which are on our to-try list and can be purchased online here.

For the final time, there is one day left for you to win a bag of our favourite tea! Post a picture of your favourite cuppa and tag us and #25daysoftea and follow us to be in with a chance of winning!

Merry Christmas!
