There are few things we love more than the flavours of Christmas. We’re not talking turkey and sprouts but rather lebkuchen, stollen, mulled wine and Christmas cake! As you are probably aware, we also love tea and were so excited to see Bluebird Tea’s Christmas tea range featuring all those delicious flavours including cinnamon, nutmeg, gingerbread and almond!
We’re relatively new to white tea and this has become one of Bugs’s favourite blends featuring juicy cherries and white chocolate chunks! The white tea has a subtle flavour and means this tea is light enough to still enjoy even after all those mince pies…
Ingredients: Chinese white tea, Apple pieces, Hibiscus, Rosehip, White chocolate vermicelli, Cocoa shells, Morello cherries, Rose petals
With scents of clove, cinnamon and orange this tea tastes just as good with or without red wine! It is perfect for warming up after a chilly walk or as an alternative to the pre-made mulled wine cocktails you can buy from the supermarket!
Ingredients: Hibiscus, Rosehip, Apple pieces, Lemon pieces, Orange peel, Orange flowers, Cloves, Cinnamon.
Bluebird is the King of the cake-as-tea blends and this Christmassy take works so well! It also has actual Christmas tree in it so it wins hands-down in the ‘Tastes most like Christmas’ category. We brewed it up as a latte with lots of almond milk (plus look at those little snowflake sprinkles!).
Ingredients: Ceylon black tea, vanilla pieces, almond pieces, cinnamon, cloves, orange peel, spruce needles, snowflake sprinkles.
Chocolate, marshmallows and coconut make this tea a super tasty treat! This one also makes an amazing latte and a great alternative to hot chocolate – see the recipe on Bluebird’s website here.
Ingredients: Celylon black tea, coconut pieces, cacao bean, cocoa shells, dessicated coconut, mini marshmallows, chocolate chips, red cornflowers, flavour.
This spicy chai blend is one we could drink all year round! The rooibos adds a biscuity, sweet flavour that mimics the flavours of gingerbread biscuits making this a perfect post-dinner drink when you’re craving something sweet!
Ingredients: rooibos, cardamom, cinnamon, ginger, mallow flowers.
We also made our own spicy Christmas style blends when we went to a tea mixology workshop at Bluebird’s store in Brighton, including a Lebkuchen tea (mate tea, cardamon, cinnamon, cloves, cacao). You can find out more about how much fun we had in our blogpost here!
